Sunday Snow!

We knew that snow was in the forecast for the day, but you can never really get your hopes up too much around here. However, I was secretly planning a run in the snow if I could make it work. On our are way to church it was raining, but on our way out it was a winter wonderland. It was snowing hard and the flakes were so big. It was very picturesque. After we had lunch, Lucy and I hit the streets dodging the huge puddles for a nice snowy run. At first my feet were frozen from all the slush, but after a while they warmed up quite nicely. I loved the streets that were still untouched. When I got home I got Kate all bundled up and we headed out back. The snow was perfect for building a snowman which we accomplished right away. We decided to finish off the snowman when Whitney was awake. Kate made some snow angels and had a few handfuls of snow. She loves to eat the snow. Once Whitney woke up we headed outside again. Whitney was excited to be outside, but was not about to step into the snow without assistance. When daddy offered his had she was willing to make her way across the yard. We had all of our things to help us polish off our snowmen, but he had already fallen over. At that point in the day the snow was no longer packing well. Bummer! I was definitely the one that was the most disappointed. Oh Well! Kate and I had a snowball fight, and Whitney decided she wanted to stay outside but out of the snow. It was a great first snow for 2011.
